This is who we are

OK, so it may not be your first question, but you may come to wonder "what's one27 anyway?"

Really it's just me being stubborn, or different, or I missed the memo, but there are 1001 ( a million?) photographers that use their name as their business name. I have no problem with that. It is their work after all. For me, I just never liked the sound of it, so I needed to come up with something else.

Also, now you have no reason to forget my birthday! Feel free to send a card when January 27 comes around.

Anyway...

I have been enchanted by the power of a great photo for as long as I can remember. There is a special magic that comes with the only way I've ever found to stop time.

I got my first camera when I was about 12, and began with making images of nature and landscapes. As I grew I began to appreciate the power of the expression on a person's face, whether that be one of elation, frustration, contentment, or despair.

I spread my time among a myriad of active pursuits including hockey, mountain biking, and martial arts, but I always have a camera at the ready. You never know when you'll need to stop time.
